About Daley's Drywall

Daley's Drywall & Taping Inc. is a family business and was founded in 1963. Sustainable Practices

Preserving our planet’s precious resources is the responsibility of every individual and company. At Daley’s, we take this to heart and are committed to preserving our environment. Our growing fleet of vehicles uses the most fuel-efficient engines available, including hybrid, electric, and small diesel engines.

At Daley’s headquarters, we have gone solar powered. We have installed a rooftop solar panel system to help alleviate the production of less clean energy on our behalf.

We use low energy task lighting, recycle our electronics, and make our best effort to limit our power usage where possible. We also take advantage of the opportunity to use recycled materials on our projects to help diminish our environmental impact.

We strongly promote the use of metal stud framing over other types of materials, as metal has proven to be the best recycled material available for the job.

Founders

Gary “Moe” Daley (1932-2008)

As a young tile setter working on San Jose’s growing housing tracks of the 1950’s, Gary “Moe” Daley found he didn’t like the dry skin you got working with thin set and grout, so he asked the tapers down the street if he could work with them. Soon, he was an accomplished Journeyman Union Taper running the housing track earning $14,000/year. In 1963, he decided he could do it better than his employer. He quit and started Daley’s Drywall & Taping Inc. along with wife Sally, who quit the phone company to do the books while raising their kids.

With hard work and dedication to doing it right the first time and treating employees as family, the company grew from tract housing to apartment complexes; and by 1973 allowed them to buy a ranch in Gilroy fulfilling a life-long passion of the outdoor ranch life. The company continued to grow; and by 1983, Gary and Sally were able to build their dream ranch home and retire in 1986.
